Advanced English Conversation
This group will meet and of August 2018 after school vacation is over. The aim is to practice speaking in a foreign language. Therefore the Germans might read an article in English and the Americans practice the same article in German. We have a lot of laughs while improving each others pronunciation and knowledge of a particular subject through much shared discussion.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Geninjapan@yahoo.com
Evenings at 7.00 pm.
In the Conversation Group both English and German are spoken. At each meeting a subject is discussed and the participants, in expressing their views and ideas, can perfect their knowledge of either language. The ladies take turns hosting the group. A light brunch is served.
Annetta Hammel, a native of the United States grew up in Illinois and Wisconsin, went to college in Tennessee and taught music in the Denver public schools 2 years before coming to Germany in 1960. She married a German in 1962. She taught English over 30 years in the Volkshochschule in Kaiserslautern and has been chairperson of the Conversation Group since it was founded.
Each club member can participate in the Gourmet Cuisine Group. We either visit special restaurants in the region (car pooling) or we prepare a specific meal in the kitchen of a club member. In this case, the participating ladies contribute to the costs of the dish at her discretion and feed a piggy bank. We would be pleased if many of you actively take part in this group. There’s only one must: Make reservation with Christel Rötter.
On September 5, 2013 the Gourmet Group went to the restaurant in the courtyard Websweiler. We had a fantastic view from the porch of the courtyard Websweiler looking down on the cultivated landscape of the golf course. On a beautiful autumn evening, we had 7 ladies and 1 gentleman join us.
Every second Thursday of the month. Contact Christel.
As a rule, a tour is scheduled once a month from 1 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. We do car pooling. We aim at a communication between American and German ladies who are interested in cultural aspects. The selection of destinations is varied, for instance a visit to a museum, a city tour or the like. General and particular interests can be considered.
Every two weeks on Tuesday. We read literature books printed one page in English and the other side in German.

The chairperson of this group, Ursula-Waleska Lang, aims to bring to light your talents in drawing and painting, free style or from a pattern. Once a month, the group members meet in her home and with her guidance, they create motifs in water colour or acrylic technique. The valuable tips Ursula can give as to the selection of motifs, the materials to be used and the technique to apply, are highly appreciated by her students.
If you want more information, contact the chairperson.
Ursula-Waleska Lang always loved to paint and intensified this hobby in 1990. She continued her studies at the Kaiserslautern university, at home and by visiting various seminars.
From 1993 to 1995, she presented her works to the public in several exhibitions in our region. In 1996, a serious disease interrupted her creative work, but now she would like to revive her beloved hobby by sharing it with the members of the arts group.
