Restored and with a wonderful sound is the more than 80-years-old Bechstein grand piano, which was recently passed to the Emmerich Smola Music School of Kaiserslautern. “The city and the school of music be very happy, that this great instrument found its way here”, said Mayor and culture Councillor Dr. Susanne Wimmer Leonhardt. Her special thanks were given to the supporters and funders, the purchase made possible by their commitment. A total 8,500 Euros for the purchase and restoration of the new Bechstein had been necessary, of which the Foundation of the Music School had taken over 6,000 and the GAIWC 2,500 Euros. Also the Musikhaus Müller had invested in over 120 work hours much power and passion in the instrument.

Paul Punstein, Director of the Music School, explained, the Bechstein come from a late music teacher from Neunkirchen. His heirs have offered the instrument to the Music School and member of the City Council and member fo the GAIWC Hildegard Kallmayer mediated contact with sellers.  The valuable instrument is initially used for the training of advanced students. It was musical presented by Juliane Rick, student of the Music School (picture).
